Help fund a full year of AfterSchool Program in Honduras that equips Christian leaders to serve vulnerable children and youth.
In the town of La Pintada, Honduras, families face the realities of economic hardship, limited educational opportunities, and a lack of safe spaces for children. Across rural Honduras, including communities like La Pintada, nearly 4 out of every 10 children are not in school at all due to barriers like distance, cost, or responsibilities at home. Also, 91 % of youth do not finish high school and only 1 % finish a university degree. At the same time, most adults work in subsistence labor, making it difficult to provide the support children and youth need to thrive.
For the past four years, Run for Promise has fueled the vision of raising young leaders across UrbanPromise Latin America. Now, that same movement is helping to launch and sustain a new leadership pipeline in La Pintada, beginning with a daily AfterSchool Program: Camp K’anir.
Children will move towards a different future—one marked by education, leadership, and the opportunity to lead their communities forward rooted in the way of Jesus.

What local leaders are saying
Recently, we invited two adult local leaders from La Pintada, Bairon and Carol, to visit Camp K’anir and experience firsthand the impact of UrbanPromise Latin America.
After participating in classes and sharing conversations with the staff, our visitors gathered with the children, who eagerly introduced themselves and asked thoughtful questions of their own.
Both Bairon and Carol have worked in this community for years, and are used to seeing children shy away or youth remaining silent when adults speak to them. But that is not what they encountered at Camp K’anir. They saw children stand tall, look others in the eye, smile brightly, and speak with confidence.
And just when they thought they had seen it all, the greatest surprise came: every child ran forward to give them a hug.
They recognized that this level of confidence, openness, and joy is rare. In a community where many children grow up surrounded by instability and limited opportunity, this type of confidence can change everything.
Because a child who is not timid is more likely to use their voice instead of withdrawing. More likely to lead instead of following harmful paths. More likely to stay in school.
Run alongside us in spirit as we raise awareness and support that changes lives.
Thank you for making this possible. God bless you!
